Once sold each car will be sent to an MoT testing station and then onto trusted workshops (usually marque specific) for a Pre-delivery Inspection.  In this way we employ two separate and independent parties and hence minimise the chances of a fault 'slipping through the net'.

Where cars are due a service this will be in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and any car still within manufacturers warranty period will be serviced by the manufacturers agent - ie a 1 year old MX-5 gets serviced by a Mazda main dealer.

 

As we look back on 2009 , it presented similar challenges to that of 2008; however by adapting to those difficult trading conditions we find ourselves entering 2010 in a far stronger position both financially and mentally.  We are under no illusion that the following next twelve months will be just as testing as the last.  We are happy to report that we have again positioned ourselves to be financially independent through 2010 and continuing to operate our own highly regarded nationwide warranties not the insurance backed variety;  price our cars competively and prepare them to the exacting standards that we have become known for.

For those people that monitor our website on a regular basis, you may be surprised to note how few cars we tend to turnover in a given period.  This is in part due to our reluctance to offer 'any old tat' and the fact that we are also commissioned to locate specific cars for clients and these equally carefully selected cars do not appear in our listings.  If you would like us to assist with your next car purchase, please feel free to contact us to discuss.

When it comes to your part exchange we aim to devote sufficient time and effort to achieve the best possible price for your pride and joy.  We will not look to profit from and will appraise your car honestly and accurately.  

Our own warranty administrator is a person of great integrity, vast experience, technical knowledge, empathy and impartiality.  He has a wealth of experiencing in liaising with garages and ensuring that any claim that you may have is dealt with quickly and efficiently with the minimum inconvenience to you.  Like our warranties he operates nationwide and with your chosen repairer.  Please note, you will not be dealing with a faceless employee of an insurance company, but a human being who will be acting on your behalf to ensure fair play and comon sense prevail.  We believe it is a refreshing industry alternative! 

Continuing attention to detail and thoroughness of our Pre-Delivery Inspection resulted in very few warranty claims through 2009.  However, we were presented with a huge challenge when a customer's errant Mazda MX-5 experienced a burnt out PCM (ECU) and   diagnostics by our local Mazda Main Dealer could not locate what caused the conflagration!  A replacement ECU was sourced and fitted by the dealer and somewhat hesitantly the ignition was turned on, only for the second one to start smouldering! (That was the most expensive firework we have ever invested in!)  The car was then removed to a trusted third party for a more thorough inspection of the wiring loom and a painstaking search eventually revealed a possible source - a partially trapped wire between engine and bulkhead.  Somewhat reluctantly a third ECU was sourced + fitted and Mazda fired it up again (excuse the pun).  The car ran up beautifully, however frustratingly a warning light suggested a fault with the EGR valve.  A new one (also not cheap) was fitted but alas the warning light remained lit.  

At that point we took the decision to throw no further monies at the cause and 'with a heavy heart but considerably lightened wallet' offered to replace the car with a similar one - even down to the same rare colour and low mileage! Let it be noted that throughout the whole protracted process, we chose to provide a replacement car to our client.  Let it also be noted, that we were most grateful for their continued patience and understanding! The Mazda dealer confirmed that in over 27 years they have never come up against such a problem!  Which highlights the fact that a robust and dependable warranty is paramount.  

We are happy to confirm that IN ALL CASES clients are dealt with expediency and empathy and are quickly back behind the wheel - cheque books intact!
